Everybody ever heard once "Tibet the country in the sky". There must be not a few people who want to go there. It is higher than Mt. Fuji, the wilderness extended endlessly and the Brahmaputra river flowed swiftly. You can't help feeling an eternal time earnestly.
The air in Lhasa had been dry since I arrived here three days ago. I felt nausea continuously and my head felt heavy from last night. I thought this symptom must a mountain sickness.
It is 100km far from airport to Lhasa city and took a few hours by bus. I was gazing vacantly at the sceneries from the window on the bus. I felt strange that the bus was running higher than the top of Mt Fuji.
Just one month ago, I handed in my resignation to my boss of computer software company that finished late last night. I bowed politely to him and out from the office with a bright face. Then I went down the stairs I took usually and I made a slight bow to doorkeeper.
I remembered the day was a clear blue sky and the sunlight dazzled my eyes...
Then I spent busy day doing night work for earning more money for the travel. In the mean time I started to getting a passport, visa and air tickets. And I also had to do study about Tibet and prepare the outfit for bicycle.
I really wondered if I could travel Tibet by bicycle just before I leave Japan. There was no good information to decide to go there. I asked several travel agents specialized in Tibet tour, but they couldn't issue the one way ticket to Lhasa for private travel. Because they said it is controlled private traveler wandering in Tibet by China government.
I know Tibet is known as untrodden region for the long time, however......
I checked another travel agent not specialized in Tibet. I had a reply that I can get a one way air ticket from Tokyo to Lhasa. What on earth is the matter? The company answered was never handled Tibet tour before ! ! !
Anyway I got a one way ticket to Lhasa.
